Please note that all participants in our marine programmes are provided with a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) while participating in the programme and the proper use of the PFD is strictly enforced. Participants are welcome to use their own Canadian approved PFDs should they have them.
Please note: A sailing camp resource guide with more information will be available prior to the start of camp.
June 29 - September 4, 2015
Designed for younger sailors to familiarize themselves with safety and sailing. Focused on fun and under the guidance of our experienced Sail Canada instructors, our youngest group of sailors will develop a solid foundation of skills. Climbing aboard the stable Optimist dinghies, participants will gain enough confidence to sail and paddle their way around the protected waters of Toronto’s Inner Harbour. They will learn about boating safety, balance, boat control and other sailing specific skills. Campers will also participate in sail related games and activities in this fun and safe approach to sailing.
Day 1 and 2 - Safety and equipment, paddling, boat controls and games.
Day 3 and 4 - Getting from A to B. Nautical games and general sailing.
Day 5 - Island Day and "Opti's on Tour."
Prerequisites: No experience required. Just be ready to have fun.
Certificate: HCSP Wet Feet Completion Certificate.
