Matzka is quite original, seeing as there are no other Reggae artists currently hailing from Asia. The sound is unique, and is built from a number of different influences. Matzka recently performed at the Telus TAIWANfest Crossover 2010 at Harbourfront Centre, and Upfront had a chance to speak with him.
This past weekend , immediately following the opening remarks for the Telus TAIWANfest Crossover 2010, the audience was treated to a fashion show by 3 notable Taiwanese designers: Jasper Huang, Angela Chen and Chiui Hsu.

The exhibition Beyond Imaginings has been an amazing success. Thousands of people have seen the exhibition and followed the journey of the artists through the Greenbelt and gained insight to this great natural resource, but it’s not over yet.
During this past weekend’s Fortune Cooking Food Festival, site patrons were treated to a free show by one of the most original DJ’s out right now, Mike Relm. Mike Relm, if you don’t already know, is a San Francisco based DJ who combines traditional DJ’ing with video to create a spectacle of a show that keeps audiences extremely engaged.
Energetic vocalist Maylee Todd hit the Sirius Stage this weekend as part of the Fortune Cooking Food Festival. She had the crowd in the palm of her hand almost instantly. She performed a handful of tracks from her new album ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’. Here is a clip of her doing an amazing rendition of ‘Haven’t You Heard’ by Patrice Rushen.
Chef Sasi welcomed us into her gorgeous restaurant making us feel right at home. After learning a bit about the restaurant we found out that we were in fact sitting in an area that had hosted the likes of Drew Barrymore, Samuel L. Jackson and Bill Gates to name a few. No big deal.
