Celebrate Black History Month With Kuumba

Harbourfront Centre’s 16th annual Kuumba festival is coming up Feb.3-5, 2012! Kuumba is a weekend-long festival celebrating Black History Month with events the whole family can enjoy!

There is The Known, (Un)Known concert hosted by former MTV personality Tika Simone also featuring up-and-coming artists from Toronto’s urban music scene, including Rochelle Jordan, Abstract Random and more. Michie Mee also hosts Honey Jam: Then & Now concert, which is a celebration of black women and the longest running talent showcase in Canada, featuring Kellylee Evans, Eternia, Jemeni and more! Reggae music legend Clive Chin will be hosting an exclusive DJ workshop on the history of Jamaican music and will be spinning music from reggae artists like Bob Marley that have never been heard before. Besides all of the music events, Kuumba also uses fashion, dance, film, family activities, panel discussions and more to celebrate Black History Month!
