In case you missed our interview with Alphabot! earlier this week, he had casually mentioned some former run-ins with fellow NXNE performer Gregory Pepper. He said,
“The showcase I’m playing will also be the first time Gregory Pepper and I have dueled since his release of “With Trumpets Flaring”. I’m not sure if you know but we are arch enemies. He constantly sabotages my live shows, steals my mail and puts advertisements in youtube. We had a sword fight for his record release. Hopefully this show will be just as eventful.”
Well we here at Harbourfront Centre could not let these slanderous and unsolicited allegations go unanswered and so we contacted Gregory Pepper for an official response. He did not mince words,
“Alphabot! is a scoundrel who hates beauty and practices pure evil. He’s stolen melodies and aesthetic sensibilities from me without so much as batting an eyelash. Most recently, he bribed members of my live band with superior gigs, Radiohead tickets, and other fanciful distractions so that I would have to play NXNE solo. But like Beyonce before me: I’m a survivor, though not necessarily a forgiver. If anything, the fires of revenge have been stoked to a raging inferno and will soon serve as Alphabot!’s funeral pyre.”
Alphabot! quickly responded,
That cur is full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. He fled from our duel in the winter with his tail betwixed his legs. I can only hope that there are witnesses to his inevitable defeat on the 16th
