Lacing up a pair of skates and gliding across a freshly re-surfaced ice rink is a Canadian rite of passage. The distinct sound of blades carving into the ice, the flurry of toques, scarves and mitts, the rich aroma of hot chocolate wafting through the air – the essence of winter. It would be a shame to miss out.
And you don’t have to.
Harbourfront Centre’s Learn to Skate programme, generously supported by RBC Play Hockey, offers over 100 classes for all ages with private and group options available, too. The lessons, which take place on our picturesque Natrel® Rink on the north shore of Lake Ontario, are specifically tailored to your levels of comfort and experience. Never skated before? We have introductory-level courses that would be perfect for you or your little ones. Looking to brush up on your skills? Take a gander at our intermediate-level courses for all ages. Planning to Salchow your way around the rink this winter? Then our brand new Figure Skating Skills course should be on your to-do list. And that’s just the tip of the ice rink, so to speak.
The Natrel® Rink, which has been an unparalleled skating destination in Toronto for 30 years, has a heated indoor change room with lockers and washrooms. A hot and cold food and beverage service is available at Lakeside Local Bar & Grill, along with 24-hour parking at the underground lot located on our site, just at the foot of Lower Simcoe. Skate and helmet rentals are available as well.
Registration is now open with classes beginning Nov. 20th. Make this the winter you learn to skate. It’s never too late.
