Join us this weekend at the Harbourfront Centre for the grande finale of the Planet IndigenUS festival, August 7-9! Stop by the Lakeview Market where you can score nifty finds and the World Café for some great eats.
This weekend only, check out the Aboriginal Artisan Market in the garage bays. This market will showcase a wide variety of original fine arts, crafts, and more from First Nations, Metis, and Inuit artisans. Here are just a few of the vendors that will be on site:
Chippewar. These works by multimedia artist Jay Soule are powerful and thought provoking. Enjoy the majesty of a full size original, or grab a limited edition print.
The Algonquians Sweet Grass Gallery. Need a new pair of moccasins? This booth has got you covered with a stellar selection. Plenty of wonderful crafts are available as well, including some pieces with porcupine quillwork!
Canard Blanc Creations. From the traditional to the contemporary, Canard Blanc offers a beautiful collection of jewellery made from bone, horn, glass, shell, and other natural materials.
Sage Forever. Follow your nose over to this booth where you’ll find plenty of wonderfully scented items for purchase.
Craving some truly Canadian fare? Tea-N-Bannock will be on site serving amazing Indigenous cuisine. Try baked bannock with wild blueberry jam for your sweet tooth, or grilled bison on wild rice for something savoury!
KFI will be back this weekend serving up more of their delicious Indian food. They are quickly become a crowd favourite here at Harbourfront Centre.
