The Wizard of Oz

How could one of the most beloved movies of all time be a box-office loser? While The Wizard of Oz did eventually make money 10 years after its initial release, the MGM musical fantasy barely broke even when it was released in 1939. By the time of its 70th anniversary Blu-ray release in 2009, it was regarded as one of the greatest classic movies ever made. Dorothy is swept away by a tornado in Kansas to the magical land of Oz, embarking on a quest with new friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion.
