Dazed and Confused

Even though the film boasts many current-day stars – Matthew McConaughey, Milla Jovovich and Ben Affleck, among others – Universal Pictures and Gramercy Pictures didn’t know how to market the 1970s coming-of-age film. But it didn’t take long for audiences to discover Richard Linklater’s characters and their last day of high school shenanigans – all set to a killer soundtrack.

It’s the last day of high school in suburban Texas in 1976 – time for a party at the moon tower! The cool seniors, their pledges and anyone else who can get a ride, celebrate the start of summer.

We follow the teens as the night unfolds: romance is in the air, Led Zeppelin rules the radio airwaves, and thought-provoking conversations abound – from how high school girls stay the same age to how Martha Washington supported her husband. Dazed and Confused is not only about whether the hero gets the girl, or the nerd loses his virginity, or if the bully gets beaten up, it’s a great place to hang out.

With Jason London, Wiley Wiggins, Matthew McConaghey, Rory Cochrane, Joey Lauren Adams, Mila Jovovitch, Parker Posey, Adam Goldberg and Ben Afleck.
