denirée isabel is an emerging Venezuelan-Canadian artist working primarily in textiles, often in the form of repeat, woven, and embroidered structures. Her work incorporates new media, by way of projections, animation, and audio. Her artistic practice revolves around the study and exploration of identity, culture, and womanhood.
Currently an Artist-in-Residence (Textiles) at Harbourfront Centre, Isabel is an aluma of the NSCAD Lunenburg arts residency. She holds a BFA in Textiles with a minor in Art History from NSCADU, as well as an advanced degree in Craft and Design (Textiles) from Sheridan College.
