Elycia SFA is a textile artist / maker / designer. The majority of her work revolves around themes of personal narratives, combined with memory, nostalgia, and loss, while portraying these concepts in the form of woven cloth. Weaving is her primary method of making, incorporated with woven inlay and stitching which allows her to draw with thread and create representational imagery within the body of the cloth, as well as manipulating and distorting digital prints through deconstructing and re-making within the woven structure. Elycia graduated from OCADU for Material Art and Design: Fibre in 2015.
Elycia was accepted as an Artist-in-Residence (Textiles) at Harbourfront Centre in 2016.
