One of Canada’s best glass artists, Julia Reimer from Calgary, will be giving a two-day master class to our Artists-in-Residence. The public is invited to watch.

Location: Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay West, Toronto

Date: Saturday, June 25, 10am – 4pm & Sunday, June 26, 10am – 4pm.

Public viewing of this event will take place from the “catwalk” adjacent to the Glass Studio. Please note that no seating is available and that the ambient temperature is very warm. The public is welcome to pop by for a few minutes or watch for the afternoon.

Julia Reimer’s pieces contain an aesthetic inspired by crisp prairie light and windswept grasslands reflecting this environments simplicity of light and form. Her original design and meticulous craftsmanship have been recognized through scholarships and awards from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, The Corning Museum of Glass and the Canada Council for the Arts. As well, her work is featured in the publication 500 Glass Objects and she is the inaugural recipient of the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery’s National Award for Excellence.

Julia lives in Alberta where she runs Firebrand Glass Studio with fellow glass artist Tyler Rock.
