Free Flicks: Young Frankenstein

Having inherited his infamous grandfather’s estate, renowned surgeon Frederick Frankenstein (Gene Wilder) comes home to Transylvania and discovers his destiny, along with a weird guy named Igor. Mel Brooks’ comic masterwork is a loving parody of James Whale’s classic horror movie and the four decades of sequels and remakes that followed. It’s also a devilishly clever look at the way we can never fully outrun our own histories.
