Welcome

HarbourKIDS is the name Harbourfront Centre gives to FREE programming specifically designed for kids under 12. The purpose of the programming is to present contemporary arts and culture from a kid's point of view. For example, each of our summer festivals offer Sunday afternoon kids programming from 1-3pm.

There are three festivals exclusively for HarbourKIDS each year: May (over the Victoria Day long weekend), October (over Thanksgiving long weekend) and February (over the Family Day long weekend).

As with all of our HarbourKIDS programming, the festivals are free-of-charge for everyone!

HarbourKIDS aims to engage kids and their families by encouraging their participation in activities that explore "Big Ideas" like respect, fearlessness and community through the lens of arts and culture. These Big Ideas challenge kids' notions, validate and illuminate their values and ask some questions that aim to ignite imagination, creativity and thought.

HarbourKIDS: SK8 presented by RBC Play Hockey

Make Your Mark! Revolving around our amazing Natrel® Rink on the shores of Lake Ontario, HarbourKIDS: SK8 uses ice skating as a jumping off point to explore all forms of skating and winter culture from a kid’s perspective. Beatboxing and urban art, skating and hot chocolate, music, movies and recreation, these activities are inspired by our creativity and our passion for Canada’s coldest season.

Throughout history, artists have found ways to make their mark on the world. Figure skaters try to make perfect circles on the ice. Graffiti artists create “tags” that identify them. Skateboarders create special designs for their boards that express their personality. Filmmakers leave an indelible print on our cultural landscape, with movies that become classics.

Musicians record their music so people can listen to it over and over again.

How will you make your mark at HarbourKIDS: SK8? Will you spend your day at The Natrel® Rink making figure eights on the ice? Will you design the ultimate goalie mask that expresses your personality? Maybe you’ll make your mark with paint & stencils on the graffiti fort. Whatever you choose to do, your family will be there to help you and to share the good times.
