HATCH presents new work in progress by Bethany Ides.
Bethany Ides is an artist, writer, independent scholar and organizer who works in and with communities to design inventive forums for becoming otherwise. Ides instigates processes she calls investigative operatics and ante-institutional resilient resourcefulness, collaborative multi-platform projects that combine tactics of theater with political thinking and planning, along with the conscientious practice of shared rituals like reading, writing, making, walking and eating together.
Bethany Ides’s recent projects have been based in Montreal, rural Texas, Brooklyn, NY, the Catskill Mountains, and BOMB Magazine’s Instagram. Ides teaches critical theory, literature and writing primarily at Pratt Institute and Bard College.
