Embroidery for Fashion Designers
Discover the cross cultural history of embroidered garments! Learn how to make your own stretcher screen, draft your own embroidery patterns, and properly execute a wide variety of embroidery stitches through the creation of samplers. Some sewing experience is suggested, but not required.

Intro to Crochet
This course focuses on the basics of crochet: understanding and choosing tools and materials, creating chains, and reading patterns. You'll create samples of various techniques and begin at least one introductory level project of your choosing. You'll leave with the confidence and skills to continue crocheting.

Intro to Sewing
Think of the money you'd save if you could sew! In this introductory course, learn the basics of machine sewing, commercial patterns, and how to choose the best fabric for your project. Create a bag or your own piece of clothing as you learn new skills or improve upon existing ones.

Natural Dyeing
Discover the wonders of natural dyeing! Various applications for your newly coloured protein (animal) and cellulose (plant) fabrics and yarns will be discussed, while you create a research book that explores colour theory, dye techniques and personal explorations for individual projects. Leave with thorough knowledge of how to safely set up your own dye studio.
