This is the winter you learn to skate!

Lace up a pair of skates, grab your helmet, and join us for skating lessons on Toronto’s scenic Natrel Rink.

We’ve got classes for all ages and skill levels, and our experienced instructors will ensure a supportive learning environment.

Because classes are held outdoors, weather plays an important role in our programming. Classes are held in all conditions, unless they get extreme. If we cancel a class, we’ll reschedule it. You’ll always receive your complete number of classes.

We have a heated change room with coin-operated lockers, there’s underground parking and we’re easily accessible by TTC.

Our classes fill up quickly, so register today!

No skates or helmet? No problem! We rent skates for just $8 and CSA-approved helmets (which are required) for $5. Skate/helmet combos are just $11 a day.

Skate and helmet rentals are available in the change room located on the east side of the building closest to the Natrel Rink. Rentals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Renters will be required to surrender a valid government-issued ID for all skate and helmet rentals. Washrooms and coin-operated lockers and are located in the change rooms.

Classes are subject to cancellation due to the following conditions: Heavy precipitation (rain, snow, hail), extreme wind, lightning and/or extreme cold (-15 C air temp. or -25 C with wind chill).

It is the responsibility of the participant to call the INFO LINE at 416-973-1620 after 3:00pm (Monday–Friday) or after 7:30am (Saturday–Sunday) prior to the start of their class to ensure that classes are running for the day as there may be other circumstances for cancellations unrelated to weather. In cases of extreme weather, cancellation of classes may occur after they have started. Classes cancelled by Harbourfront Centre will be rescheduled.

What to wear

CSA approved hockey helmets or a winter sport helmet (ski or snowboard helmet) are required for ALL participants. Bicycle helmets are not permitted.

Please dress for the weather since the Natrel Rink is outdoors and by the lake. Make sure that your clothing allows you to move freely while keeping you warm and dry. Snowpants or waterproof pants are highly recommended. Jeans are not suitable for skating. Participants should have a pair of gloves/mitts; waterproof gloves/mitts are ideal.
