Curatorial Statement

Traditions are statements, legends, customs and beliefs that are handed down from generation to generation. While our generation inherits the way of thinking from the past, we have to consciously examine what we are leaving behind for generations to come. New traditions should reflect the paths we choose and the realities we embrace. In re-visioning a new celebration of Lunar New Year in Canada, what are our statements, legends, customs and beliefs for the next generation?

– Charlie Wu, Managing Director, ACSEA
– Mira Coviensky, Artistic Associate, Harbourfront Centre

A programme of the complexity and size of CIBC LunarFest is only possible with the cooperation, contributions and hard work of every department and all members of the entire Harbourfront Centre staff and volunteer teams. We extend our thanks to them all.
