We are happy to announce the confirmed author lineup for the 38th edition of Toronto’s International Festival of Authors!
From October 19–29, engage with the literature of our times, explore the world of books and get acquainted with the authors and their ideas. These eleven days are packed with readings, one-on-one interviews, thought-provoking panel discussions, special events and free book signings. From poetry readings, crime and thriller writing discussions to celebrations of authors’ literary achievements, the Festival offers a curated selection of events for every taste.

Vincent Lam interviews debut novelist Ann Y.K. Choi about Kay’s Lucky Coin Variety, a story of a young Korean Canadian girl who will not give up on her dreams. Set in Toronto in the 1980’s, this story examines the daily struggle of defining one’s identity.

The Word On The Street

This year marks the 28th edition of The Word On The Street Toronto, Canada’s largest outdoor book and magazine festival. Be sure to check out the newest additions to the festival lineup, the Francophone Literature Stage, where they will be celebrating the very best in French-language writing, and the Indigenous Literature Stage, where they will be highlighting today’s most important Indigenous authors.

The IFOA that Tours
Since 2003, IFOA has travelled to literary festivals and book fairs around the world, presenting Canadian authors to international audiences in countries such as Australia, France, Iceland, the Netherlands, the U.K., the U.S.A. and Turkey.
On the agenda this spring was: Sweden, Ireland, New Zealand, Greece and China.
