Now in its third year, Circus Sessions is a week-long creative laboratory where 12 national and international contemporary circus artists work together under the guidance of a mentor. Come witness two performances of new work created throughout this week.

Femmes du Feu is a project operating company founded in 2003. Since 2007, Femmes du Feu have been actively creating and presenting aerial circus works, researching innovative ways to combine their contemporary dance and choreographic backgrounds with their aerial circus skills. Femmes du Feu presented their most recent work, BIND, at the 37th Rhubarb Festival in February 2016. Femmes du Feu also have several non-performative services. Since 2011, Femmes du Feu has been producing Aer Time, a contemporary circus performance series, hosting discussions and other community events. Circus Sessions, now in it’s third year, has been an exciting project for Femmes du Feu and we look forward to, and are curious about it’s ongoing impact and resonance.

Co-directed by Holly Treddenick and Sabrina Pringle, Femmes du Feu was founded in 2003. Their mandate is to develop, explore and promote aerial dance in Ontario and to new audiences. They have presented work across Canada, including The Wrecking Ball (2007), Hysteria Festival (2009) and the Canadian Fringe Festival circuit (2009, 2010, 2012). Holly also co-produces Aer Time, presented in Toronto and across Ontario.
