The Whole Shebang 2008: Celebrating the Individual Voice within the Collective
The Whole Shebang 2008 blasts forth with a blockbuster program of performances by contemporary dancers, filmmakers, visual artists, new media artists, and musicians, including but not limited to:
- Chain Reaction, a new high octane duet choreographed by Dana Gingras (The Holy Body Tattoo) in collaboration with digital animator James Patterson, danced by Dana Gingras and Sarah Doucet;
- Danny Grossman's remarkable solo Memento Mori (danced by Andrea Nann);
- live hand-drawn animation with song by Dark Hand and Lamplight (who are visual artist Shary Boyle and songwriter Doug Paisley);
- excerpts of Act of God a new work in progress by filmmakers Jennifer Baichwal and Nick de Pencier, a new collaboration between digital media artist Tom Kuo, improvisor (cello/voice) Anne Bourne and choreographer Andrea Nann;
- plus an acoustic music set by songwriters Margo and Michael Timmins from The Cowboy Junkies with Andy Maize and Josh Finlayson from Skydiggers.
