Quebec Now!

Harbourfront Centre is very proud to partner with the Bureau du Québec à Toronto and Le Ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine du Québec on what is to be one of the largest organized Québécois cultural manifestations ever to take place in Toronto.

This Harbourfront Centre city-wide initiative is an exploration of the social and cultural corridor that exists between Ontario and Québec, examining the cultural implications as they are evidenced in art and contemporary creative practice. Our hope is that, over the next four months, our city's eyes will be opened to some amazing artists who call Québec their home, and that all artists and audiences involved will be enriched from this exchange.

Harbourfront Centre has a long history of presenting the best of contemporary culture from Québec in theatre, dance, visual arts and literature throughout our 35-year history and we look forward to an incredible future of what's to come.

I am proud to lend my support to the presentation of Québec Now! at Harbourfront Centre. The display highlights the influential cultural role played by Québec artists in Canada and around the world as well as the many artistic and social ties between Québec, Ontario, and all of Canada.

Harbourfront Centre has a long history of friendship with Québec artists, and we are grateful for this opportunity to display their talents to the greater public and the Toronto arts community. May this exchange between Québec and Canadian artists help forge strong ties and new partnerships.

It is with pleasure that I praise this multi-disciplinary and varied program that will allow Torontonians to discover numerous facets of Québec culture. I would like to thank Harbourfront Centre and its partners who conceived this special event entirely focused on Québec. For decades, they have all worked together to bring the work of Québec artists to Toronto.

For the Québec Government Office in Toronto, whose role is to promote the province’s interests in Ontario, this event provides an exceptional opportunity to reinforce and further develop the relationship between Québec creators and this city’s cultural institutions.
