The white rectangles on the map indicates the locations of the RESPECT photo installation at Harbourfront Centre
This is the route that was followed on the RESPECT team’s first voyage above the Boreal Forest. It started in October 2006 with an autumn shoot over Québec and the eastern part of Ontario. In February 2007, the team flew over the remainder of Ontario and into Manitoba where the photographers managed to capture spectacular footage despite the harsh winter conditions. The spring /summer session began in Manitoba in May 2007 and continued west over Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and eventually ending in the Yukon in June 2007.
The Far North of Ontario was shot in two sessions. The first leg of the journey took place in April 2009. Although winter conditions still persist in the Boreal Forest at this time of year, the days are longer and the light is stronger making photography from a small plane more feasible. The second shoot took place from the end of May to the middle of June 2009 with the RESPECT team following the Albany River north to the mouth of James Bay.
