Your students learn the techniques of relief printmaking using a soft linoleum block and create their own unique series of prints. In a full-day workshop, students have the option to visit the Museum of Inuit Art and explore the history and beauty of Inuit Art. Talk to our registrar for further information.

A special Valentine’s Day-themed activity is planned for Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.

Programme Objectives

By the end of the programme, students will:

  • Discover the history of printmaking through the examination of works by prominent artisits
  • Explore carving techniques to produce line, texture, pattern and positive and negative space in printmaking
  • Demonstrate the safe use of lino carving tools to produce a printing block
  • Produce several coloured relief prints using a linoleum printing block
