Alessandra Naccarato is a storyteller, spoken word poet and artist-educator. She has performed extensively across Canada and internationally. Alessandra also placed third in national slam team championships on two occasions (2009 and 2010), and was a finalist in the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Championship (2012). This year, she represented Toronto in the Women of the World Poetry Slam Championship, and is the current coach of the Toronto Poetry Slam Team. Alessandra is also the Chair of Spoken Word Canada and the Artistic Director of the Montreal Slam. With degrees in Creative Writing, Political Science and Community Development, and substantial training as a youth worker, Alessandra has eight years of facilitation experience in diverse settings – from classrooms in Montreal and Toronto to NGOs in Ghana.
