Students draw on personal experience as inspiration to explore the process of relief printmaking and create a series of colourful prints.

Students will examine printed artwork by celebrated artists from around the world. They will discover texture through the art of collagraph. Best of all, they will design, create and print a series of beautiful collagraph prints.

Key Inquiry Question: To what extent does your examination of historic works of art influence your collograph print?

Programme Objectives

By the end of the programme, students will:

  • Discover the history of printmaking through the examination of works by prominent artists
  • Explore shape, texture, pattern and positive and negative space in printmaking
  • Produce several colourful prints using a collograph relief printing plate
