Students will examine printed artwork by celebrated artists from around the world. They will discover texture through the art of collograph. Best of all, they will design, create and print a series of beautiful collograph prints.

Students draw on personal experience as inspiration to explore the process of relief printmaking and create a series of prints.

Key Inquiry Question: How can historic works of art influence your collograph print?

Program Objectives

By the end of the program, students will:

  • Discover the history of printmaking through the examination of works by prominent artists
  • Explore shape, texture, pattern and positive and negative space in printmaking
  • Produce several colourful prints using a collograph relief printing plate
