Blood Tides is an inter-generational and inter-cultural performance work led by Kaha:wi Dance Theatre‘s Santee Smith and an ensemble of international Indigenous women from Canada, New Zealand, and the United States.
Blood Tides is the second production in the triptych performance series: Re-Quickening, Blood Tides, and Skennen, all created through Indigenous process and from a Konkwehon:we (Indigenous woman’s) perspective and research. The piece highlights the retrieval of ancient women’s knowing, restoration of rites of passage, and opens a sacred space to power up feminine voice, body, and spirit.
For the full day experience, students will participate in a dance workshop led by a School Visits Artist-Educator in the morning and then attend the afternoon performance of Blood Tides.
