Let your class decide! Students will examine the past, present and future of Toronto’s waterfront, explore the site and assess the sustainability of the community.

Through an exploration of our 10 acre waterfront site, students build connections between our community, culture, change and the urban landscape.

Key Inquiry Question: How can the concept of sustainability be used to understand the development of Toronto’s Waterfront Community?

Program Objectives

By the end of the program, students will:

  • Explore the historic development of Toronto’s waterfront
  • Identify patterns in land use, urban planning and urban communities
  • Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages changes to the waterfront will have on a variety of stakeholders
