Through examination, discussion and creation of prints, your students gain an understanding of the printmaking process and insight into how Inuit artists draw inspiration from the world around them. In a full day workshop, through our newly acquired Inuit education collection, students will explore the history and beauty of Inuit art.
Students draw on personal experience as inspiration to explore the process of relief printmaking and create a series of prints.
Key Inquiry Question: How can animals in your community inspire your collograph print?
By the end of the programme, students will:
- Discover the history of printmaking through the lense of Inuit culture
- Explore shape, texture and pattern to create a relief printing plate
- Produce several coloured relief prints
