About Chef Steve Gonzalez:
Chef Steve Gonzalez is a first-generation Canadian with Colombian parents. He prides himself on being innovative and putting modern spins on classic Latino food. Steve has been in the restaurant business for 20 years. He has cooked in Spain, Hong Kong, and Miami. He is currently chef de cuisine at Claudio Aprile’s latest venture, Origin, a Toronto culinary hotspot. Previously, he was chef de cuisine at Colborne Lane and sous chef at Sassafraz, to name a few.
Recently, Origin was ranked the number one new Toronto restaurant – a fact that no doubt is due to Steve’s administration behind an open kitchen and brilliantly executed dishes.
Steve’s presentation skills have been requested by International Food and Wine Festivals, corporate sponsors and television special appearances. He has also donated his time and culinary skills to numerous charity events in the city.
He also is an integral part of the Chef Congress of Canada which provides the industry and the consumer with intelligent food choices and homegrown well balanced menu products.
