Theatre at Harbourfront Centre
Harbourfront Centre presents the most innovative and exciting theatre from at home and around the globe.
World Stage is Harbourfront Centre’s flagship series for international and Canadian theatre presentations. From September through May we present the most outstanding examples of theatre innovation and excellence and explore concerns and new trends through complementary forums and workshops.
HarbourKids programmes are specifically designed to be family friendly and provide events that speak to children as well as their parents and support members. While HarbourKids events take place year-round, there are three specific festivals, in May, October and December, which concentrate family activities, including theatre.
We support new companies and artists through the HATCH programme, which encourages and develops local initiatives that deserve a boost in their efforts to grow and expand. Other local, national and international touring companies require a facility to self-present and Harbourfront Centre is able to rent them space or partner to co-present their work to Toronto audiences.
Theatre expressions from community and cultural organizations also find an outlet in our summer World Routes festival presentations.
