Toronto Design Offsite Festival 2018

Harbourfront Centre is a hub of activity for the 8th annual Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO) with five exhibitions and a public talk, spanning architecture, craft, industrial design, installation, art, contemporary jewellery, and more.

In Place: Approaches to Site and Experience
January 13 – 28
Co-presented with TO DO, In Place takes the UK-based practice of Aberrant Architecture as a focus and departure point for a group exhibition with four practices that share similar interests, processes, and outcomes, such as an interest in deep research, engaging local communities, and site.

Outside the Box
January 13 – 28
Co-presented with TO DO and WantedDesign, Outside the Box presents a dozen distinct national and international showcases, shipping in Bankers boxes. Working with local correspondents, each box includes original works from local designers, reflecting the particular resources and makers of each area.

In junction with the In Place exhibition, Aberrant founders David Chambers and Kevin Haley will discuss ideas, experiences, and stories with Beatrice Galilee.

Craft & Design Exhibitions Winter 2018
In addition, Harbourfront Centre presents three self-programmed exhibitions: Dear Human’s Or Something In Between (January 13 – June 17), Daniel Rossi’s Blind Spot (January 13 – June 17), and the group show Face à Face: An Exhibition of Canadian Contemporary Jewellery (January 13 – April 22).
