We welcome new volunteers throughout the year. There is an incredible selection of volunteer positions for you to choose from. Whether your interest is in literary readings, summer festivals, working with children or office support, you will surely be able to find something that fits your interest and schedules.
The volunteer programme is divided into three categories: Volunteer Contributor, Volunteer Enthusiast and Volunteer Leader. Each programme has different time commitments and benefits. It is our goal to develop and nurture all of these programmes and to build a solid, dedicated volunteer base throughout the years.
All Harbourfront Centre volunteers will receive the following benefits, plus those listed in the category descriptions (right):
- Two TTC tickets per volunteer shift
- An invitation to volunteer meetings
- An invitation to volunteer recognition events
- The Volunteer eNewsletter
- A record of hours or reference letter (if needed)
How do I sign up as a volunteer?
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Minimum 3 months commitment required
- Friendly and willing to work with children and families
- Must be able to communicate in English with our visitors

Volunteer Contributor
Volunteer Contributors volunteer for a specific time frame, and contribute below 60 hours per year. Once they have registered with the volunteer programme, they are responsible for signing up on the online volunteer management system for any shifts in which they are interested.
In addition to the benefits listed (left), these volunteers will also receive five-minute complimentary tickets for specific Harbourfront Centre events.
Volunteer Enthusiast
Volunteer Enthusiasts commit to over 60 hours per year and volunteer throughout the year and support a wide variety of programmes at Harbourfront Centre. They are responsible for signing-up on the online volunteer management system for any shifts in which they are interested.
In addition to the benefits listed (left), these volunteers also receive a photo ID, access to reciprocal attractions, year-round five-minute complimentary tickets and the staff discount at BOUNTY Contemporary Craft + Design.
Volunteer Leader
Volunteer Leaders are committee members, trainers and team leaders who also volunteer and commit to at least 60 hours per year.
In addition to the benefits listed (left), these volunteers also receive a photo ID, access to reciprocal attractions, year-round five-minute comps, an invitation to Harbourfront Centre receptions (selected events), advance tickets to performances (on rotation), TTC tickets at committee meetings and the staff discount at BOUNTY Contemporary Craft + Design.
