Explore and discuss meth addiction within the Black LGBTQ community and participate in a broader conversation around HIV in Black communities in North and South America. Preceded by the debut screening of documentary parTy boi: black diamonds in ice castles, from director Micheal Rice. Part of the Journey to Black Liberation Symposium.

Josh Heuman is Curator of Education & Public Programs at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery. After starting his museum career in Omaha, Nebraska, he also worked at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University, Salt Lake Art Center and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. In addition to running programs for audiences of all ages, he has organized dozens of exhibitions and published and presented on art history and pedagogy. Heuman will discuss Michael Landy’s exhibition DEMONSTRATION.

Sunday Scene: Lee Maracle

Lee Maracle is a Sto:Loh nation scholar and author who was born in North Vancouver, BC. She has published over 20 works, currently is a Mentor for Aboriginal Students at University of Toronto, where she also is a teacher, and is the Traditional Cultural Director for the Indigenous Theatre School. Maracle will discuss Kader Attia’s exhibition The Field of Emotion.
