New Music Concerts has commissioned Jeffrey Ryan to compose an extended vocal cycle based on The Whitening of the Ox (Inside the Zen Ox Pictures) by Canadian poet K.V. Skene for solo baritone voice (Tyler Duncan) and large chamber ensemble.
