Binding Borders

Binding Borders is about four different characters. Each of them reminisces about their lives before immigrating to Canada. Their pasts are sewn into one present story through coincidence. Binding Borders represents the various cultures and ethnic backgrounds of Toronto that unify us.
Director: Tiffany Hsiung
Born in Canada in the heart of Toronto, Ontario, Tiffany is a recent graduate of Ryerson University studying in the film production program. Her goal in the field of film is to expose, educate and revolutionize a better society for the next generation.

A Good Life

A documentary about the filmmaker’s first trip back to her home country six years after immigrating to Canada, she tries to explain her old world to her nine year old daughter and, why not, to herself.

Weaving a personal voyage through South India with her experiences in Canada, the filmmaker explores how second-generation Tamil Brahmins connect to their culture and heritage through a new medium — the internet.

Come and view the short films of young filmmakers from this amazing competition! In 2008, Radio Canada International launched Migr@tions, an online short film competition open to young filmmakers, between 18 and 35 years old, from Canada and around the world.

This unique competition, offered in both English and in French received hundreds of submissions of which the top films in each language were made available for online screening and rating by the general public, as well as a jury made up of panellists from several countries, including Canada.
