Menaka Thakkar Dance Company | Voyage of Awakening
September 25-26, 2009
Canada’s premier Indian dance company presents an evening of powerful contemporary dance featuring bharatanatyam, kalaripayattu, aerial and modern dance styles. The performance includes new choreography Agni Ratha – Chariot of the Sun by Artistic Director Menaka Thakkar, inspired by the Vedic image of the sun riding on a chariot driven by seven horses. The piece premiered at the Canada Dance Festival’s Dancing Through Cultures event in June 2009.
