John Kameel Farah (8-9pm)
John Kameel Farah is a Toronto-based composer, pianist, electronic musician and visual artist. Farah now focuses primarily on his creative hybrid of improvisation, composition and electronic music. Simultaneously using piano, synthesizer, computer, and at times harpsichord, his solo performances exist somewhere between the concert hall and an experimental DJ set at a dance club, mixing forays into free improvisation, jazz, electro-acoustics, Middle-Eastern modes and ambient minimalism with variations of electronica.
Eric Downer (9-11pm)
DJ Eric Downer will follow Farah’s live set with an ambient mix of techno and experimental grooves. Since the mid-nineties, Downer has spun at large-scale underground events hosted by Transcendance, Alien Visitation, Ritual & Industry Nightclub among others, and has held various residencies at nightclubs across the city.
