Kurt Elling is among the world’s foremost jazz vocalist, named Male Singer of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association on six occasions in the past 10 years. He is a Grammy winner, with every album he’s ever made receiving a Grammy nomination, and a long list of recording and performance collaborations including Dave Brubeck, Jon Hendricks, Charlie Hunter and Terence Blanchard.
His rich baritone spans four octaves and features technical mastery and emotional depth – with an impressive command of rhythm, phrasing and musical dynamics. Elling’s repertoire includes original compositions and modern interpretations of jazz standards all of which are springboards for scatting, spoken word and the always well-received poetic nature of his vocalese.
