About the artist:
Benny Walker has been influenced by his family’s rich musical history, as well as the songwriting styles of Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne, David Gray, Neil Young, James Taylor and Ben Harper. His soulful voice and love of diverse musical styles sees him combine blues and roots with reggae and even country to share a unique experience with his audience. The key to his appeal is his willingness to tap into the Aussie love of anthemic tunes about sun, surf and good times. His festival appearances include St. Kilda Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Nannup Festival, Riverboats Festival, Australiasian World Music Expo amongst others. Nominated for Most Promising New Talent in Music at the Deadly Awards and at the National Indigenous Music Awards 2011, Benny is beginning to receive some well-earned recognition from his fans and peers.
