About Alexander D Great:

Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Alexander grew up in London from the age of five. A professional musician, composer and arranger for over 30 years, Alex returned to his calypso roots in the late '80s with his own "socablues" fusion of calypso, soul and blues. Alex runs a 10-piece band, a small record label and leads calypso workshops. He is the Calypsonian-in-Residence at the BBC. An ABC stalwart, Alexander D Great won the 2010 Calypso Monarch title with his thought-provoking song "Haiti." He has a unique writing and performance style and he continues to pen songs for others, including the ABC's very talented backing vocalists The SocaDivettes. Some of Alex's memorable calypso songs include "Monsanto's Law," "Panorama Attack" and "Lash Dem Lara."

About Macomere Fifi:

Macomere Fifi burst onto the calypso scene in 1998 when she captured the calypso monarch of Canada title, and went on to win the first ever Calypso Queen competition that same year. A longstanding member of La Petite Musicale Toronto, Fifi began singing with this legendary choir immediately after moving to Toronto in 1987. When in one of the choir’s theatrical productions she played a character named Macomere Fifi, this name stuck with her and it was not a difficult decision to adapt this moniker for her calypso career.

About Structure:

Structure entered the Calypso arena in the 1980s in his native Barbados with the social commentary "Product of the Classroom." He was a regular in the yearly Pic-O-De-Crop competitions, developing his unique style of incorporating subtlety and humour into his art form. In 2002, after immigrating to Canada, he entered the OCPA-sponsored Calypso Monarch competition and placed 1st as runner-up.

Structure went on to capture the title in 2003, 2004 and 2005, along with 10 of the 11 remaining categories, including the most coveted People's Choice Award. The founder and manager of the Kaiso Forum Calypso Tent, Structure also has a deep passion for cricket and dominoes. Structure has held the position of Vice President of the Organization of Calypso Performing Artistes for two years and been an advocate for the Calypso art form, pledging his continued support to see it grow from strength to strength until attaining the recognition it rightly deserves.

In 2006 Structure placed sixth in the fiercely competitve national Pic-O-De-Crop Calypso competition in Barbados with "Youth Restoration" and "I Want A Bag!" - a remarkable achievement for a non-resident performer. In 2007, Structure captured the Canadian Calypso crown for the forth consecutive time with his brilliant and witty songs "I Know" and "No Mexico."
