The Heist Project, a one-woman dance event, premieres three commissioned works created by five international artists. Conceived and performed by dancer and Jose Limon Dance Company member Belinda McGuire, the three Heist solos are The Eight Propositions, a collaboration of Emio Greco, Pieter C. Scholten (Amsterdam) and McGuire (with original music by Jerome Begin), Anthem for the Living by Sharon Moore (Toronto) and Blue Solo, Joni by Idan Sharabi (Tel Aviv). To compose Heist, McGuire traveled around the world creating and collecting the solos, all built on spontaneity and reactivity.
"Reaching her arms out, with her dark hair flying, Ms. McGuire uses momentum to whip in and out of twists that place her body on a ragged edge of control. There are stops and starts; she arches her back, allowing the fine muscles of her shoulders to glimmer, nearly ghostlike, in Kate Ashton's lighting. Even though it ends up where it starts, there is a hint of mystery along the way."

"(McGuire) is like a Greek god, a temptress."
"A tireless whirlwind."
