Kinnie Starr presents a workshop on writing your own story through songwriting, hip hop and poetry. She begins with a performance, followed by a musical and collaborative discussion about subjects like fame, rap music, mainstream pressures on girls and women, and the nature of making music out of nothing. Rap music specifically can be made from throwing out repeated words and phrases, and lacing them up to foot stomps, hand claps and basic beatboxing. This will be an inspiring, creative exploration.
