The power of music to galvanize a movement and inspire resistance is highlighted in a program that reaches across genre, historical context, and message.
The Songs Program (May 10 & 12) includes music by Nina Simone, John Lennon, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Bruce Cockburn, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Marvin Gaye, and so many more.
The Classical & Folk Program (May 11) features excerpts from Beethoven’s majestic Eroica and George Crumb’s Black Angels, as well as music by Shostakovich, Kurt Weill, Bob Dylan, and others.
