Celebrating the Day of the Dead - CANCELLED
November 7-8, 2009
This film has been cancelled.
Families from the ancient Aztec town of Mixquic open their doors for an in-depth look into their own Day of the Dead celebrations. The film explores the traditional markets where flowers, sugar skulls and papel picado are sold, artisans explain how they create the famous calaveras (skulls) and people show how they lovingly clean and decorate the tombs and altars of deceased loved ones.
This Mexican-produced program was also selected by the Mexican Department of Foreign Relations for their consulate to show the authentic Day of the Dead celebrations.
