Venue Rentals

As an arts centre, much of Harbourfront Centre's programming revolves around visual arts, craft and new media. There are a number of exhibition spaces on our site, ranging from small vitrines to a 1400 square foot gallery, and they are curated collectively by our Visual Art department in six to eight-week exhibition periods, generally a year in advance. If you are interested in submitting a proposal to have your work shown at Harbourfront Centre, please visit the Visual Arts section of our website.

The Natrel® Rink is always accessible to the public during operating hours – and as such it is never closed off entirely for the purposes of presenting events on it. All inquiries for events on The Natrel® Rink are reviewed by a number of departments in order to determine feasibility. Please complete this Venue Rental Application if you wish to stage a rink event.

Our Community & Educational Programmes (CEP) department handles the programming of our summer and off-season weekend festivals. Please email them for information on submitting a proposal to the music programmers at Harbourfront Centre.

From late June through Labour Day, Harbourfront Centre presents our Summer Festivals season. This means that from Friday through Sunday our entire site is programmed with (mostly free) public events (music, dance, theatre, visual art, food, etc) around a different artistic or cultural theme. All of our venues and resources are dedicated to these festivals - which are very densely programmed!

On top of our summer festival season, we also run Toronto's most diverse summer day camp in all the York Quay Centre venues, indoors and out, during the summer months.

As a result, we are generally unable to accommodate any outside requests during the summer months, as we have neither the available space nor the resources to handle anything aside from our own programming.

Summer festival programming is generally completed six months to a year in advance of the festival's date by our Community and Educational Programmes (CEP) Department. If you are interested working with our CEP Department in partnership or as a part of a future summer festival weekend, please email them.

Harbourfront Centre is unable to accommodate weddings on our site, but there are a couple of other options for weddings on the waterfront.

If your wedding involves fewer than 40 people, you can get married in the gazebo at the Toronto Music Garden. Arrangements are made through the City of Toronto, as it a City park. Visit their web site for more information.

Another waterfront wedding option is chartering a boat from one of the tour operators who dock on our seawall. Their weblinks are located here.

There are also two hotels on the waterfront: the Westin Harbour Castle and the Radisson Admiral.

Across the harbour on Toronto Island, Gibraltar Point Arts Centre is another potential location for smaller weddings.

Wedding photography is also not permitted on our site. You may take wedding photographs farther along Queens Quay West at the Toronto Music Garden with a permit. Visit the City of Toronto website for more information.

Because of the density of our own programming, these are generally requests we're unable to help with.
