Kiri Nathan
“My collection is for the sexy, elegant woman. It pays reference to the korowai (traditional Maori cloaks) and piupiu (traditional Maori skitrts) through contemporary construction and mediums. I paid particular attention to garments that would work for buyers of off the shelf, reproducible work. All my work pays homage to my Maori ancestry in one form or another so it was exciting to create pieces that fit into the current market place from a Maori pallet.” – Kiri Nathan
