Eastern Legends by Chai Found Music Workshop, Taiwan

Transcending the boundary of traditional and contemporary music, one of Taiwan’s finest traditional music ensembles, Chai Found Music Workshop (CFMW) has reinvented the Asian traditional music in Eastern Legends. The music will feature traditional Taiwanese and Chinese works recomposed in Rock and Pop style, played with soundtrack from a 5 piece rock band (drums, bass, keyboard, guitar, DJ Remix) and the classical Chinese instruments such as Pipa, Guzheng, Erhu, Ruan, Yangqin, and Di.
From the past experiences of collaborating with Nieuw Ensemble Amsterdam, Ensemble of the 20th Century and Klangforum Wien Vienna of Vienna, CFMW has successfully taken on new dimensions in their works. Some of the composers who have written works for CFMW are Vykintas Baltakas, Sandeep Bhagwati, Chen Meiqi, Chen Xiaoyong, Chaya Czernowin, James Clarke, Bernhard Gal, Bernhard Lang, Li Zhichun, Lin Fangyi, Lu Yen, Pan Hwang-Long,Heinz Reber, Gerald Resch, Michael Rochat, Jorge Sanchez-Chiong, Michael Timpson, Tung Chaoming, Christian Utz, Andreas Weixler, Wen Deqing, Wu Dinglian, Xu Yami
