HOT & SPICY FOOD FESTIVAL PRESENTED BY NOW | SEPTEMBER 4-7 | PART OF HARBOURFRONT CENTRE WORLD ROUTES 2009 PRESENTED BY RBC

Curatorial Statement

The Hot and Spicy Food Festival explores diverse "hot" food experiences from around the globe. The festival also pairs themed dishes with complimentary hot rhythms from various regions. In 2009, we celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Hot and Spicy Food Festival at Harbourfront Centre and the 6th anniversary of the Iron Chef Competition.

Each year, the festival finds programming and food techniques that will push the boundaries of your taste buds. This year's festival brings together tart and tantalizing tastes from an array of dynamic culinary regions. We start with the hot and spicy tradition of Louisiana, a mecca for food and music, moving through some of the latest trends in cuisine, including raw and slow food and finally sampling foods from some of the hottest countries in the world within the boundaries of Cancer, the Equator and the tropic of Cancer
