Curatorial Statement

It’s Canada’s 143rd birthday! Canada is vast, multicultural and miraculously peaceful. Local Canadian events have transformed the world globally – what would the world be like without Canadian inventions such as the telephone, insulin and the BlackBerry? Global events have also transformed Canada, as we have become one of the most multicultural countries in the world.

We’ll be celebrating the many cultures and artistic genres that form our Canadian identity with programming for all ages, including the inspiring citizenship and reaffirmation ceremony, music from across the nation, Canadian stories, uniquely Canadian dance, film, food and games. You’ll join us, eh?
